October 10, 2018: Due to a notice by Fortis BC to request customers to reduce natural gas usage following a natural gas pipeline rupture near Prince George, BC, the City will be making changes at all civic facilities to reduce energy use. The City will be lowering temperatures in all civic facilities by 1.5⁰C, effective immediately. Facilities with pools will have pool temperatures lowered by 1.5⁰C.

  • Fit 55+ Wednesday 9:15AM - 10:15AMexpand

    Auditorium:  A moderate intensity class consisting of low-impact cardio followed by muscle conditioning and relaxing stretch techniques. 

  • Browsers 9:30AM - 12:00PMexpand

    Computer Lab:  These computer classes are instructed by an advisory board volunteer and require a site-specific or City-wide Senior's Membership. 


  • Newton Carpet Bowling - 6 Month Fee 55+ 1:00PM - 3:00PMexpand

    Auditorium:  Ongoing program, no instructor. 

  • Newton Carpet Bowling - One Year Fee 55+ 1:00PM - 3:00PMexpand

    Auditorium:  Ongoing program, no instructor. 

  • 10 Card Crib 55+ (Wednesday) 1:00PM - 3:30PMexpand

    Room 2:  Social cribbage, drop in, no instructor.

Newton Seniors Centre has a wide variety of services for seniors in the Newton community. This facility has a dedicated Seniors lounge, cafeteria and auditorium with stage, fitness and wellness areas, multi-purpose, activity and billiards rooms, and a computer lab.

This fully accessible facility has free parking, free wi-fi and offers registered and seniors drop in programs for adults 55 years and older. For information on room rentals, please contact us at 604-501-5010.

Seniors Services Membership

Starting September 1, 2018 seniors (55+) can pay $25 per year for the Seniors Services Membership which is valid at all recreation facilities in Surrey. 

Cafeteria Hours

  • Monday to Friday: Refreshments and baked goods are available 9:00am to 2:30pm
  • Monday to Friday: Lunch is served from 11:30am to 1:00pm
