Youth Recreation Services

Sign up for your free annual Youth Membership at any recreation centre. Get access to drop-in activities and our youth lounges where you can play video games, foosball, air hockey, gym activities, sports equipment, pool tables and more!

Surrey Leadership Youth Council

Have thoughts, opinions, and ideas about your community? Encourage other youth in Surrey to speak up by joining the Surrey Leadership Youth Council (SLYC).

Registration is now open for the 2018 Youth Speak Up forum on Friday, October 26 from 8:30am to 3:15pm at Surrey City Hall.

Come check out one of our meetings: Mondays 4:15 to 6:30pm at Surrey City Hall.

Surrey Leadership Youth Council was excited to host the 9th annual forum on October 27, 2017 at Surrey City Hall. The forum had 140 youth participants that represented 13 different high schools. SLYC compiled participants' thoughts and recommendations in their report. Chuck Bailey Surrey Leadership Youth Council

Live, work, and/or go to school in the Whalley/City Centre Community? Interested in discussing topics important to you & your community?

The Chuck Bailey Surrey Leadership Youth Council (SLYC) is looking for youth who want to work together to discuss topics affecting the Whalley/City Centre community and advocate to have Surrey youth’s voices heard.

  • When: Fridays 4:30 to 6:30pm
  • Where: Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre (13458 107a Ave, Surrey, BC V3T 0G4)
  • Benefits: Pizza, volunteer hours, and a fun group of youth who want to make a difference

Upcoming Event: Everyone is welcome to participate in the Chuck Bailey Youth Focus Group about public safety and recreation opportunities on Friday, September 14 5:00-7:00pm.

Youth Events Squad

Join our Youth Events Squad (YES) team to help plan and execute five of the City of Surrey’s biggest youth events, including the Surrey Youth Showcase event series and Band-Aid!

We meet every other Friday from 4:45 to 6:15pm at the City Centre Library. You must be between the ages of 14 to 21, and are welcome to join YES or contribute to meetings about specific events.

Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad

The Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad (SYSS) combines environmental stewardship and leadership in Surrey's unique urban forest. SYSS enhances our parks through hands-on restoration, education at community events, and other unique projects.

Youth Engagement Project Teams

Got an idea for a project or an event, but need some help or support to make it happen? Our Youth Engagement Project Teams (YEP) are looking to work with you.

Tell us what you want to see in your city and we will support you in making it happen.

If you are a youth, service provider, school, agency or parent and are interested in connecting with the YEP team in your area, email or contact your local recreation centre.
